Sine Qua Non is a winery founded by Elaine and Manfred Krankl, starting with their 1994 Syrah 'Queen of Spades' made from four and a half barrels. They specialize in Rhone-style wines featuring Syrah and Grenache supported by Mourvedre, Roussanne, and Viognier, while also working with non-Rhone varieties like Petit Manseng, Touriga Nacional, Graciano, and Petite Sirah. Known for distinctive, delicious wines with a cult following, limited production, and a waiting list due to high demand.
